Canal street Panerai

Once in a while I wander around Canal Street here in NYC to see what watches are around. Sometimes you find really awesome ones, other times.. not. All my watches were bought from there (the rep's, anyway) instead of online, up until I receive what I ordered from Jackson, anyway :)

So last weekend I picked up this for 60 bucks:

Blued hands look kinda cheap, but only if you look very close. The rest of the watch has a really awesome finish to it, aside from the worst band ever made in history. It's getting a Panatime blue croc band soon :D

It came with the rubber strap, which I'll keep, but it is complete garbage as well. I just wanted that Pre-V buckle from it :D

The suprising thing was that it glowed correctly, almost none of the replicas out there do.

The guy I went to always has nice stuff, so I got to see hands on a few of the "swiss" models, like a GMT, and a few 1950's models. The best thing I saw, unrelated, was the new 7750 BR-01 94. Those are damn convincing replicas, only the sunken date wheel gives the watch away as a rep.

Oh, so what's this watch called anyway? I'm no good with the PAM model names :(

Nice pickup for $60 - I've seen that version around the dealers for around $75-80, but not in quite a while...

I like the dial, very 70s.

Yeah, not the steal of the century, but I figured why not (I'm addicted)

I'm pretty sure WackoBirdKeeper gets his watches on Canal St. I guess you just have to look around.
