conx 0 Posted May 26, 2012 I've always wanted a daytona, but have been put off by the secs@6 timebomb movement warnings - nothing more frustrating than having a long wanted rep being no more use than a paper weight ! I also didn't want an A21J as the sweeping hand would and non working chronos would bug me (I nearly went with one of the late Roberts frozen 21Js, but his untimely passing meant that wasn't an option). So that left me with quartz, but that was a step too far Then I read the recent thread by TxRub779 - "Daytona - Everyting you wanted to know" and he mentioned the Secs@9 versions. So I did some searching and found that Trevor (a TD next door at RWI) could supply at a good price. I know that others can also get these, but Trevors price was good. After the usual wait and tracking frenzy, this is what dropped through the letter box.... I absolutely love it. Even my wife has commented on how nice it is and she is usually totally uncaring about my watches. About the only thing I can find fault with is that the strap is slightly different to other Daytonas I have seen. The closure mechanism is different. This doesn't worry me at all, as once it's on the wrist who can tell? The movement and chronos work perfectly and even the rotor is not too noisy Overall a great watch which will be getting plenty of wrist time.

conx 0 Posted May 26, 2012 Good watch..but the chrono counters are totally wrong position...but it is still a good watch Indeed - that is the trade off. But I don't care and 999 people out of 1000 wouldn't notice anyway.

Luthier 1 Posted May 26, 2012 Is it A7750 or Lemania with frozen hours hand?
conx 0 Posted May 26, 2012 Is it A7750 or Lemania with frozen hours hand? It's an a7750, everything ticks (well sweeps) and works as you would expect. I believe it is a lo-beat 7750 though but am not 100% sure.
conx 0 Posted May 26, 2012 @jeff - I'd expect nothing less from you. Everybody here says you're a big dick. Or was it that you have a big dick - not sure now?

conx 0 Posted May 26, 2012 how much? Pop over to Trevors board on RWI where he has a post on this watch (he also has a secs@6 version, so make sure you find the right post.) But as a newer member, I would suggest you stick with the TDs here. If you ask the TDs they may be able to source it for you. @jeff - I'd expect nothing less from you.
