my chinese watchs movement broke i decided i would replace it then i decided i would redesign the watch this it with the old movement

The border i made today just needs a good polish and de-bur

This i the movement to go in

Can i use this case with out the bezel or does it need to stay on

I was thinking about making one out of brass? and have a gold coloured bezel

that will match the hands, movement, and crown. should look good.

Soak the bezel in acetone or whatever to remove all the paint then polish it. I think that might look best and isn't too hard to do.

Was considering wet and dry paper but acetone sounds good or might get my dad to dip it in some hydrochloric acid

Actually i will shot blast it around a mate even less work :rofl:

AS you can see i still need to buy the movement my only issue if finding the hands i want as i want some with out lume and gold coloured

If you polish that bezel up you can allways have it gold plated. Should only be a few dollars.

Spent an hour in the garage to day on and off and got rid of that pig ugly black which made me feel sick ( well its not that bad)

 

any way here is the result

I used the lathe and sandpaper instead of a cutter to get the job done quicker which seemed to work for me at first went to copper then after that the base material

 

What is your advice on polishing??
