T222 0 Posted June 17, 2012 Hi there. I have bought a Ultimate Omega PO 42mm from a trusted dealer (I won't mention the name of the dealer) The PO is with a second hand ETA movement, after advise from the dealer. Now after 3 days of use, the watch has stoppet working! I can handwind it, but I cant start the watch. The dealer has told me to send it back and get a refund, but I would really like to have the Omega PO! ;-) The watch I have now has some small faults. There is a Mark on the Omega-logo, and there is something on the Dial, and of course the little detial, the watch dosent work! ;-) So if I get a refund, I can buy another PO from eny dealer I like. :-) Can someone please recommen a dealer that has a great quality control, and is the "best" in the Omega department? ;-) And which movement should I get? The price is not a problem!! I will even pay the dealer extra to find me a fine sample! (in fact I did just that with the dealer I bought this PO from, but that did not help! ;-) Please give me some advise. Thanks! Cheers, T2
Amit 72 Posted June 17, 2012 most of the dealers will be able to get you the same PO from the market. Find a dealer you are most comfortable with
NFleischer 4,355 Posted June 18, 2012 I would return it and try Mary/Rochest; if it wasn't from them that is. BTW- UPO refers to the 45mm version, not the 42mm. Maybe you can get one with a new Sellita movement.
ImNotFatImFluffy 0 Posted June 18, 2012 pretty much any would be able to get you the same rep, but for best reliability on a budget, id go with a cheaper automatic, or a quartz if available, but thats just me. if you got money to fix a high beat automatic/have it regulated, go for it. T222 0 Posted June 18, 2012 Thanks all for your answers! It's really great to get some feedback. I got this watch from a VERY trusted dealer, but I won't say the name here! ;-) In fact I have had some "trouble" with this dealer. To make it short: 2 broken Big Pilots 1 D&G (digital) 1 Omega PO (the one refering to here) Naive as I apparently am, I thought some extra money would get the dealer to take some extra time to find me a "perfect" watch, but that wasent the case! :-( The movement in this watch is a Nickle Plated Swiss Eta 2824 movement. Or at least it looks like it. Well, I'll have a look around to find the same watch with a better movement. :-) The Sellita movement sounds like a good/better choice. Does enyone know were I can find the 42mm PO with this movement? Cheers, T2

Contact one of the site admins here they will help you get back any over payment. This is why we have a site like this. By all means you should name the dealer, what happens if someone else falls for this? We're all here to help and more importantly, protect one another through our experiences. Pob 73 Posted June 18, 2012 I think you're handling this in in a very good way by not naming dealer here. But i agree with semaj that you have to talk to admins and get this sorted. You payed extra i guess because you wanted to and not because dealer asked you to and that is not the dealer fault! Shit happens sometimes and here it did but that is our reality in this hobby! We all had some problems with our dealers and they can send DOA watch sometimes but the after service is what make them trusted in here and all things can be sorted in the end! I would ask Mary or MR to source the watch you want
T222 0 Posted June 18, 2012 Just to make it clear! I offered to pay the extra money to the dealer, to make up for the "extra time" he would have to use to find me a great sample of this watch! I don't care about the extra money I spend! If I could pay the same again, and get a great watch, I would do so. ;-) The dealer did not do enything "wrong", the dealer just could'nt deliver what I expected! So I will not say the name of the dealer here! And just for the record, I have changed my dealer! ;-) I will send this watch back, and get a refund. Then I will see if MR can find me a good sample of the PO. ;-) Cheers, Steffen. :-)
