populous 0 Posted June 21, 2012 Have a breguet (or as it actually say on the watch breuget - I've learned to live with it ) with a seagull movement I like to fix myself. During my last flight the front glass fell off. I was leaving the plane very jet-lagged so I just scrambled to the floor and spotted the glass, fetched it up and threw the whole thing in my backpack. Later I tried to fit the glass to the watch but it appears that it is actually too small. There's a 0.5-1 mm gap all around between the watch-case and glass. It sits flush but no way it sticks in there. Makes me wonder; is there a ring around the glass I've never noticed before? and is there a copy I can get hold of somewhere? It is pretty much this model (no plug intended): http://www.marvellousreplica.com/products_detail.php?ProId=1353
jeffw69 0 Posted June 21, 2012 If it's too small, mayb e you picked up someone else's glass?
Crusader 0 Posted June 21, 2012 If it's too small, mayb e you picked up someone else's glass? Didn't you noticed the other guy on the floor, searching for his glass? To be serious... some models have rubber gasket around the crystal, I'm not sure about this model.
Krispee 0 Posted June 24, 2012 (edited) i was going to suggest that, the gasket is probably missing, good news is you can buy them very cheaply, although you will have to push the glass and gasket in together under some force....... i`m sure there are some tutorials showing how to do this....
