B5GLX 0 Posted July 4, 2012 I just received a rep GMT Master II and it's not running. When I manually wind the watch it feels like it's winding, but it still doesn't start. On my gen Speedmaster, when I wind the watch the stem stops when it's fully wound. On the rep, it doesn't stop. It feels like I could keep winding it forever. Is this an indication that there may be a problem inside? Should the stem stop when it is fully wound?
Cyril_Clunge 0 Posted July 4, 2012 This may sound odd but try giving the watch a good slap into your open palm.
Leigh 0 Posted July 4, 2012 I don't believe an auto movement will stop should you keep winding, but I could be wrong.
Steve227 0 Posted July 4, 2012 This may sound odd but try giving the watch a good slap into your open palm. +1 sometimes it needs abit of a 'kick' to get going. Don't wind too much tho as that's not really necessary. I had to bang/tap my gmt on a book to get it going.
B5GLX 0 Posted July 4, 2012 I don't believe an auto movement will stop should you keep winding, but I could be wrong. Thanks for that. After reading past posts about DOA reps, I tried slapping the watch front, back, side but no luck.
