graman 2 Posted November 20, 2008 Well! I'm impressed guys! Very impressed! Love the decor!...a credit to you all! So....we start, I take it the old RWG database is blown to hell? New home feels good... Thankyou!
greg_r 81 Posted November 20, 2008 Hi Graman, good to have you aboard, mate We've asked about the old database, but no response has been forthcoming (yet). If we manage to get our hands on it down the line, we can set it up as a searchable archive like TRC. Depends on whether Blade will play ball (which I doubt, frankly)... trailboss99 996 Posted November 21, 2008 Welcome home mate! Glad you like it. Most of the thanks goes to Greg, he made it happen and John for stiring us into action in the first place. Without his never say die attitude to keeping this place alive in some form or another this would never have happened. As for the history, I hope that Blade realy doesn't want all the years he put into RWG to just vanish and if not for our sakes but for the sake of all those who contributed to that huge body of work he wants to see it preserved. There is wisdom, humor and pathos in there that should not be lost. Enjoy your new home. Col.

graman 2 Posted November 21, 2008 Oh I'm just bloody grateful! And as Col says, hopefully Blade will value what's been done, and preserve RWG1. Here, there is spirit.....I really take off my hat to you guys. This.......is special.

Here, there is spirit.....I really take off my hat to you guys. This.......is special. Thanks, Graman I hope that we will get some feedback from Blade, but I'm rather losing hope. Neither John nor I have had any response to the overtures we've made. I'd hate to lose the old database, there's so much good stuff in there, but we'll have to see. If we do manage to rescue it, the plan is to turn it into a read-only archive a la TRC, which should stop this board getting too clogged up.
