Ah, this is the mildly controversial fantasy vintage beige-dial Daytona, yes? I like it! :bananarider:

Is this the one they call the "panda" dial? I'm actually really interested in it myself... any sellers you know of?

It's not a 'fantasy' dial...it's the Paul Newman cream and red dial that was fitted to the 'Paul Newman' series :

6238,

6239,

6240,

6241,

6262,

6263

6264

6265

The bold reference numbers above were the models that had ( or could be found ) usually fitted with this dial....but given that the dial could be ordered as a factory redial, like all Rolex....nothing is set in concrete.

PS....there's a little confusion over this term 'panda dial'....the above wouldn't be called a panda dial..because it has a cream dial ....pandas are generally bi-compax, ( but sometimes tri-compax....as long as the sub-dial configuaration was ....3 - 6 - 9.....not...6 - 9 -12...as in AP ROOS... ).... with white dials with black sub-dials....or the reverse......ALA...

or....if you want to be more specific...... :D

Holy shit, not a bad way to lighten up the old hip pocket! I can't think of a better way to spend the $$ though, discounting a few of the deadly sins of course ;)

Put this on after reading about Sol's. Just love the simplicity of it.
