GMT Master IIc (warning pic heavy)

Recommended Posts

B5GLX

I received my first rep, a GMT Master IIc Asian Clone ETA 2836 from Marvellous Replica today and posted feedback here: http://www.rwg.bz/bo...showtopic=32751

It's a great looking watch and am pleased with it considering the price I paid. It's eye catching, too, because this afternoon when I was wearing it my father noticed it right away on my wrist without me saying anything--LOL.

The first thing I did after I adjusted the bracelet was to remove it and then soak the bracelet in WD-40 for a couple of hours. I then rinsed it with warm water and now the bracelet feels very nice and smooth.

BTW, I took the macro shots with my iPhone 4S and OlloClip lens. The rest of the shots were with a Nikon D90.

Here's a shot together with my Speedmaster Professional:

Lume shots. Sorry the first one is not colour balanced. I turned off the lights I was shooting with, but did not turn off the lights at the other end of the room:

For the three-second exposure, I charged up the lume on both watches by holding a daylight lamp up to the dials before taking the shot:

I have to say, however, that to my eye the lume on the GMT is NOT as bright or even as on the Speedy Pro despite it looking brighter in the photo.

The final picture is the obligatory wrist shot :)

Very nice mate! I had this watch a while back - it's a beauty and a real eye-catcher! :thumbsup2:

By the way, I see your minute hand has blue lume! I guess this is a mistake or did you do this yourself?

B5GLX!

You did a fine job.

1. Good choice and good dealer

2. Good finish after delivery

3. Definitely super shots with your iPhone and the lens

4. The Makro showed a well finished dial, engravings, datewheel seems to be correct as well (not misaligned)

Over all, I give it 99,5 % (my personal opinion) as it´s not a GEN, else you would´ve received a 100%

Wear it well... both watches are fine though...

Cheers

Not me :). I did a double-take when I first took the photo. The minute hand was at first under the cyclops and I was thinking, "WTF? Where's that blue reflection coming from?!" LOL

Well, that explains it. I was wondering why it was like that! I guess it makes mine a bit more unique than others ;).

I have to say the lume is probably the worst feature on this GMT. Looking at it last night on my nightstand, it's very faint and uneven between the different indicators. Having it redone should probably be one of the first mods :).

Thanks. I'm really enjoying the watch a lot. Now that it's on my wrist, I appreciate the way it looks and feels more and more. It's very comfortable to wear all day long.

Great watch! Can you please comment how is your bezel? Does it have slight "play" in it, or it clicks in firmly?

Thanks. The bezel clicks firmly, but does have slight play to it: approximately 1/2 minute counter-clockwise.

Well, I've had this GMT Master IIc from Marvellous Replicas now for over a month and It is my daily wearer. I have to say I'm loving it more and more--especially since I opened it up and regulated the time.

When it first arrived, the watch was running about -15 seconds/per day. I wanted to let it settle before I did anything, so I wore it normally, sometimes letting the power reserve run down, sometimes having it on the watch winder. The watch was pretty consistent with its timing. After the month was over, I decided to take the plunge and bought the Kello app for my iPhone. The reviews were mixed with this, but I figured I'd give it a shot.

I'm glad to say the app gave me numbers that matched my own measurements (for which I use my atomic watch as control). So I used my sticky ball to open up the case back and this is what I saw:

6apepysa.jpg

Whew, no evidence of dirt and gunk or random hairs I was expecting to see! LOL!

It took me a few attempts but the Kello app helped a lot to see what effects moving the lever and adjusting the screw did to the accuracy. I was able to adjust it so that it was about +5 seconds per NIGHT. I saw per night because when I wear the watch during the day, it is spot on to the second with my atomic watch. When I take it off for the night, it gains 5 seconds by the morning.

This is perfectly fine for me because I just use this information to regulate the watch:

8eme6y8a.jpg

By placing the crown up over night, the watch is about +4 seconds/day. Awesome :).
