My current collection

The second from bottom left is a fantasy 'mini' egiziano. The gen is 60mm and too flippin' big - the rep is 47mm and much more wearable. Awesome watch - I paid about $150 from timesshop. The strap is a cheapie from sectime

Here's a better photo:

Good point. There's quite a few there that I don't own any more either. Might be time for a new thread, maybe!

Right up there with the wristies, I love the collection shots...and these are great.

I wish there was a place in the Collector's Zone or Photo Gallery where members could post their collections.

When I want to find someone's collection, they are difficult for me to find.

I really like to look at how people have individualized their watches,

and especially appreciate the watch strap combos.

You guys have done the experimenting for me and I can see what works and looks good

without committing funds to guesswork. The only place to see watch strap combos is the wrist check, or (much easier) the collections shots.

It's kind of like wine and I am trying to find my taste in the straps.

With limited resources these days, I think we all want to make the right choice the first time.

I am not in a position to experiment with these combinations.

Last week Mondeo just happened to have a nice alternative strap around

when his new watch arrived.

It may only be a couple of months away, but planning ahead is good, and

Mother's Day is coming.

I don't normally ask for anything...but I may be ready with a suggestion this year.

It is so much easier to look at what others have done with these combos to see what I like.

I can see what looks good to me.

You can't see the wrist/strap combos and alternatives in the dealers stock photos.

One of the things I like about the straps is that you can look like you have a new watch,

when all you did was change the strap. So, maybe sometime I will just happen to have

some nice straps hanging around too.

Thanks for sharing Greg.

I am not lazy DB :(...

I just continue to fail Forum 101. :frusty:

I see the problem...basically, I needed to know to go to Popular Brands and Reviews, and then go ALL THE WAY to the bottom of the page to find the last entry for "My Collections" Right? But it wasn't odd that some VIP's who have been here for more than a year didn't know there was a VIP Only Section and it has it's own Banner.

Sometimes I think that only with enough :boobies2: you guys will give me a pass.

ok...now I will spend all of my time at that link and keep out of trouble in the SB...bye

Now Onze will come along and tell me I am right about the pass!

.... but then people would think I was a scammer! :(

To be perfectly honest, apathy is what gets in the way. I just can't be arsed to spend time taking photos of watches - I never really enjoyed still life / close-up photography and nothing has really changed. Even back when I was serious about taking pics, it was always architecture that grabbed my interest - never much cared about other subjects :)

Soooo.... you call it "collection"???

Just one watch - collection???

One great Deep Sea, rest - toilet seats with similar black or white faces... worth to buy such a great box for just one watch???

And... what is that plastic toy from Toys'R'us with black case and blue hands? $3 kids watch?

Time to grow up and buy a few really cool watches.

Hehehe...

I know this is an old old post, but I have joined this nuthhouse only recently and am going through all kinds of threads for entertainment.

Dude this is the funniest f'in post I have seen. Very spontaneous.

Just for the hell of it, an update with a couple shots of my watchboxes as they are now.

There's two watches missing (another SOH and a Rolex 6154) that I hope to have back soon, and there's another 47mm PAM incoming (and I have NO clue where I'm going to store it). Other than that, this is the current collection as it stands:

1. RWG watch in its own box:

rwgwatch-box.jpg

2. 47mm PAMs (minus the Rolerai)

3. Everything else (minus one SOH):

The lower drawer in the Modalo box (above) is used by my wife to store her watches. It holds 16 and is also getting close to full

I think I need to buy another watchbox...

Bugger me, that is a nice collection Greg. If you ever fancy donating that blue SOH on mesh or that Ploprof to a worthy cause, let me know

Mostly? :Hmmmph:

Just for that I'm not gonna answer your question.....

.... oh well... Maybe I will after all :D It's a quartz PAM 308 Regatta. Superb quality for a cheapie - got it from Robert. No running seconds so it's not obviously quartz.

... and thanks Aston :thumbsup2:
