hank bakels 0 Posted August 30, 2012 Well done sir! You can always rebuild your rep inventory....I think you have taken the route most of us take. Get a nice rep collection and then get a gen of your favorite rep in the bunch.
Bobbylah 135 Posted August 30, 2012 Very nice. Love mine ('97 model). Unfort. I was on the cusp of the tritium phase-out so my lume is non existent now.
wqleow 1 Posted August 30, 2012 Nice! Great pics bu you'll definitely miss the variety.

sam77 0 Posted August 30, 2012 What do I, personally, think? I think you're crazy. :P thanks Luth .............let's start again
Del 4,499 Posted August 30, 2012 Looks amazing Sam! Sometimes I feel like doing the same thing, especially with all the UK Customs issues right now. But I'd buy a SuperOcean Heritage, much cheaper too! Enjoy your new beautiful Rolex.
sam77 0 Posted August 30, 2012 thanks guys now i feel better , if you want something really nice and not that pricie i recommend the steinhart now debaufre diver watch it is amazing no mods needed cheers!
Frazzle 5 Posted August 30, 2012 There's no doubt about it, that's a stunning, a truly stunning Rolex but man so were those reps!
PAB 0 Posted August 30, 2012 I'd love a Gen, but although I'm careful if I trash a rep... its a couple of hundred quid. Not so with that beauty Accidental damage cover??

thunder92 0 Posted August 30, 2012 Rather have 12 reps. But to each his own and it looks nice.
2point 21 Posted August 30, 2012 Great move getting rid of those PAMs. A more varied collection and I'd say your crazy but all those PAMs for a gen - no question a good deal.
P4GTR 0 Posted August 30, 2012 7/10 were pams, essentially the same exact watch. You did good. When you start populating your watch box again, 1-2 pams only.. variety is the spice of life!
Jorge-(WhoreHay) 261 Posted August 30, 2012 I don't know... You can look at this as a "private savings account" with partial dividends: while you were "investing" in reps, you enjoyed them. You've cashed in your chips and now you have the real thing, and you seem to enjoy it even more... Live long to enjoy it!!!
honeybear 0 Posted August 30, 2012 (edited) Congratulations, I've been thinning out my replica collection too because of my gen purchase. The way I see it, if you want a gen Rolex, then you might as well get it now, since prices keep going up at such a predictable pace. Sure, you might miss the variety, but now that you have a gen, you might feel less of a need to get knee deep in expensive franken projects, knowing that you always have your trusty gen to fall back on if you need to ensure that you aren't called out. That will hopefully limit your replica purchases to at worse high-quality out-of-the-box replicas, which are much more affordable, and easy to add to the collection as the need arises. As mentioned above, a large chunk of your collection was Panerais, if the itch strikes, just get a good OOTB Pam replica, like a Noob 111, and do what Paneristis do, which is to mix things up with strap changes instead.
