Looking for Patek Philippe Calatrava 5120G

Recommended Posts

I would like to say hello to all members of this forum, as I'm the newest member.

I need a hand to find a particular PP model:

I'm looking for a PP Calatrava 5120G replica. The original has automatic movement. I prefer quartz movements as they are more precise than any asian movement and also because this particular watch doesn't have second hand-so it will be difficult to see the difference.

I went through the whole list of trusted dealers, but I can't find this particular model.

http://www.patek.com.../5120G_001.html

Any ideas where to look for?

Thanks

Chris

Save a picture or two of the watch to your computer and then email it to a few of the trusted dealers like WatchInternational. Silix, Toro... they will let you know if a rep is available for the watch. The websites just give you an idea of what might be available and more popular reps. You won't know until you contact the dealers and they'll be able to answer that question.

It seems that none of the trusted sellers has them (still waiting for an answer from Mary).

I can find the watches I'm looking for on these sites:

http://www.perfect-watches.org/vacheron-constantin-vc60.html

Has anyone had any experiences with them?

Thanks

Chris

Stay away from those three sites.. they are scammers, plain and simple. Let us look around for you a bit.

We will find what you want.. for sure....

and WELCOME to the nuthouse... you just missed the Southern Ontario Get To Gether (if you are in Southern Ontario that is) :canuck:

ummmmmmmmmmmmm............ errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... TT is a trusted dealer on other sites... this watch is VERY close to your pick, but you may think the price is just a tiny bit too high

I recall someone was able to get a Patek 3520D replica from Mary, I got mine from Taobao. The 3520D is like the 5120 but slightly smaller.

This is a photo of my quartz 3520D replica, where I replaced the flat sapphire crystal with a domed sapphire crystal to better approximate the gen.

Hi honeybear

Taobao??? Never used it.

Your PP 3520 looks fantastic! What is the diameter?

Mary couldn't find the PP 5120, but maybe she is able to get me the 3520.

Thanks

that 5120is listed as 36mm and Honeybear says the 3520D is smaller so figure it is way too small for a Luthier-type

The gen 5120 is a 35mm watch, so just keep that in mind. However, the hobnail bezel is very thin, so it wears a bit larger. The 3520D replica is about 33.3mm which is in turn larger than the gen at 32.5mm.

Thanks honeybear,

I just sent Mary an email, maybe she can source it for me.

Second: the language on Taobao is mandarin. How did you manage to order your watch there???

Well, I know Mandarin. But, once I select a watch, I use a Taobao agent to handle the financial aspects of the transaction, since the individual Taobao sellers do not accept Paypal.

Here's mine (labelled "rep") from Mary at WI. Manual wind 21J for about $100.

The picture shows Baldrick's version (labelled 027). Note that it has the more correct font size on the numerals. There's also a gen for comparison.

Note that the subdial is slightly recessed on the rep and flush on the gen.

The gen used to be 33.5 mm but enlarged to 36 mm in the mid 1980's and comes in 3 versions:

Ref 5116 enamel dial. Manual 36 mm YG only

Ref 5119 lacquered dial. Manual 36mm WG, YG or RG.

Ref 5120 lacquered dial. Automatic 35mm WG or YG
