Couer Perpetual Date?

Recommended Posts

mdt9111

Bought a really beautiful replica ROLEX Sea-Dweller DEEPSEA yesterday. Looks great ... even brought my magnifying visor to check it out closely ..... no fuzzy letter, sealed well, etc. However, AFTER I got home, I couldn't believe that I missed one thing: Below ROLEX, it says Couer Perpetual Date, as opposed to Oyster Perpetual Date.

Can't find a thing on the web .... not even a definition for "couer".

Anyone have a clue? Otherwise, only a jeweler could tell this is a rep.

Thanks,

Mark

That's the thing .... I have owned a real Rolex and this rep is nice ,,,, other than this. I even wore it in the shower and swimming yesterday ... no issues. Just curious what that "couer" denotes. Doesn't seem to be a thing anywhere on it ... can't believe it is a simple mistake, as a more likely mistake would be a mispelled word, like if it said oysster or oster ;-)

If I could post pics, I'd show you....

You can and you may post a pic, but the verdict still is cheap rep.

What is the meaning of the French word mon coeur?

In English: my heart

So i conclude that China builder was gay, and do you liky very much.

Hopefully you didn't pay too much for that.

Good news is that you are here now.

Do some reading, check out the trusted dealers, and have some fun.

Hi Mark.............oh and hello and welcome. I'm afraid that's a terrible DSSD you got, no matter how little you paid.

You're in the right place now, any of our TD's can hook you up with a great watch.

Read, learn and enjoy the banter. :)

Thanks for all the feedback everyone .... just curious why it's "terrible"? Is it just that it doesn't have the correct "style" band or whatever for the model, or just because of the word couer?

Build wise, it's very well made with gaskets, lumin' markers, sapphire crystal (tested), etc, etc ... Other than the fact that a word (couer) is wrong, it is a nice watch. I speak from someone who has repaired TAG's and polished real Rolex's for friends.

Thanks again.

Mark

Ah I see...now I'm no expert, but I'd suggest it's terrible in as much that it does not much resemble a DSSD....at least as I'd recognise one.

Now, if your criteria is build quality, I'm afraid I'll have to take your word for that.....given your self-proclaimed expertise.

Then of course my question should have been addressed to him.

It has the wrong bezel insert and wrong bracelet and caseback, also the word couer is kind of a give away.

Please, don't get me wrong guys .... I appreciate all the feedback. And the jabs are A-OK too, as I'm learning. Next rep I get, I'll make sure to have pics of the real model to compare. I didn't know that about the bezel. I do smack myself for missing the word "Couer" though .... I know better, just missed it.

I paid $150, so not a huge loss for a well made case, band and movement. What I think I will do is see if I can find a real ROLEX DSSD dial (or good rep), and replace this one .... maybe the bezel insert too, assuming the dimensions are correct.

Live and learn ..... thanks again!!

Mark

No worries Mark, but I'd suggest you never spend another thin dime on that watch.
