The Constellations have been around for a long time and have a bracelet with a lightly brushed finish with a directional pattern. It's easy to scratch the finish while resting your wrist on hard surfaces and then it's hard to polish out the scratches in the same direction as the grain. A watchsmith can do it. Check that out on a gen first at the local shop. Is your wife careful or prone to banging her wrist around? Rolex DJs are very well repped and I see them often on women at the nicer shops in malls.
