tesmith2112 0 Posted October 2, 2012 (edited) Took movement out and attempted to gently clean some dust off the minute hand. Looks like I bent it down a bit, so I tried to bend it back, now the second hand catches the minute hand when it comes around. It appears that I loosened all the hand when bending the second hand back into place. How do I tighten the hands back up? Thanks! tesmith2112 0 Posted October 2, 2012 Thanks pal. I'm not much better. I can take a movement out and look at it, but that's about it. I have messed up three movements in the last month. Thankfully all 21J.

If the hand is loose, i.e. you can spin it on it's pinion, it should be staked with a hole closing punch. http://www.ofrei.com/page448.html If it's just bent, 2A tweezers work well http://www.ofrei.com/page1465.html

10:10 Watch Repair 1 Posted October 3, 2012 Wow! Sounds complicated. Thank you for the response. It's actually not that hard once you get a feel for it. High cost of entry though.
