onionbag 1 Posted October 10, 2012 Ahhh, the halcyon days of Weather Platypus...good times...I have it on good authority that Greg_r aka 'Slicky McFingers' was their drummer until the news of his gerbil baiting went viral... This is an old chestnut...........a 'popular misconception'. As a two piece comprising of 'No Fingers' Gilhooley on Moog Synth, and Cleetus Blenkinsop.................a half Cajun-half Brummie vocalist who specialised in Appalachian mouth music and snake handling, it is obvious that they had no rythym section(even more obvious if you had witnessed them at the aformentioned Flasheart Manor Festival). Greg_r did roadie, make tea, and handle their instruments for them tho'.

No, that's the single grain of truth that gave credence to the myth.......an accomplished baiter as young man the boredom of life on the road with Weather Platypus allowed him to hone his skills and take them to new heights.
