presence00 0 Posted October 9, 2012 (edited) Just saying hello to everyone. Last week I got sufficiently annoyed at my yet again pin-sheared gen Tag Kirium band (probably unfair, given that it has only sheared 5-6 pins after having been on my wrist daily for 12 years) that I decided to buy a new watch. Then I realized I like nice watches, but my resident salary was not going to cover a nice watch right now. Headed over to google, asked it about fake watches, found timeshops.net, saw the RWI / RWG icon... and here I am. The amount of time I have spent just wandering the forums is crazy. I now realize I've started a new hobby that is heavy on details, a mashup of hacking, beauty and function. I expect you'll see me around here fairly often. Thanks for having me. presence00 0 Posted October 9, 2012 Pickled - Pictures should be coming soon: I semi-accidentally (not quite the version I thought, but totally my fault not the dealer) bought a cheap Ulysse Nardin maxi diver black face/blue hands, then bought a noob pan 111 (from Toro) motivated at least 50% by the forum hype. The watches should be showing up any time now and I'm psyched. Also, yes, I agree it is silly to buy two watches in the first two weeks of the hobby. Still, fairly excited. presence00 0 Posted October 9, 2012 Question for ya'll: I reviewed this excellent post on pre-wear preparation of your new watch. http://www.rwg.bz/board/index.php?showtopic=17441&st=0 Is this pretty common? How much do people typically do? And, if I have no tools other than a set of small screwdrivers, what are the minimum steps I should take (and what gear therefore must I get)? Cyril_Clunge 0 Posted October 9, 2012 I do pretty much everything that Silver suggests in that thread but equally there are many here who do nothing but unwrap the watch, strap it on and enjoy it
Luthier 1 Posted October 9, 2012 Demand higher salary, if refused - shoot your fucking boss. Using same Glock, rob the local bank. Order al many watches as you can, leave a few bucks for the food. Post pictures of every watch you bought. Ask Mods to change your nick on "presence001"... "presence002"... etc, with more watches. Oh, and last - never, ever, vote for they guy from your hometown. Oh, and welcome!!! Love Chicago blues!!!

Electron17 0 Posted October 9, 2012 Welcome to RWG, leave now or it will become very expensive!!! Jokes aside, learn as much as you can before ordering from the trusted dealers and excercise lots of patience while waiting for your watch to arrive.
