Hi People

Found this site indirectly from watchesbyjames. Glad I did!!!

Looking for a new watch that can fit my skinny 6.1" wrists!! My currency watch doesn't look too bad but in the market for a nice Panerai.

There's tons of 40mm PAMs, even my wife with 6" wrist has one, fits perfectly.

Welcome to the forum!

A Panerai is probably way too huge for your wrist to be perfectly honest.

Nevermind, If Luthier says it looks fine, it looks fine.

I'm gonna have a look at one first and see how it goes. It's hard buying a nice watch with these wrists!!!

One solution is to work out those wrists. I play tennis, so I usually do specific work for my wrists. My left wrist is now 7" and my right is 7.25"

Thanks peeps. Shall I look for 40 mm watches then? Or is it a case of seeing if it fits?

When it comes down to wrist size, a bigger watch can be worn if the strap is correct, a good quality hand made strap, can make all the difference.

I just tried on a black Tag Carrera and it looked ok. Black seems more subtle in the large shapes.

Off to find a good dealer.

Sometimes the thickness of the watch is more important then the diameter, it really depends on the watch itself. 40mm Panerai may sound small (compared to the 44mm), but it's doesn't wear small, it's quite thick for its size and wears bigger then Submariner for example, especially if you put it on the bracelet 22mm.

Have a look around and just try out few models, you can always sell them here with small loss :)

Thanks for help, I'm keen on the Carrera but love the look of retro Pans. Interesting that you say they are quite thick, the photos are deceptive.

Carrera Date in 41mm would be great choice, the one with red second hand. The bigger, Day-Date might be too big, because the lugs are quite long and pointy, not so comfortable on the wrist.

40mm Pams are quite thick, here is one on my 6.6'' wrist:

41mm Omega for comparison, only a 1mm thinner then Panerai and it wears smaller:
