Rolex Explorer II pic review

Recommended Posts

boneyjr

So for whatever reason, last week I became obsessed with purchasing a white face explorer II. In the course of two days I purchased a 2813 and an A2836 with superlume. As fate would have it, they were delivered on the same day, and I haven't taken the 2836 off yet.

After first washing the bracelet in jewelry cleaner, then soaking it in baby oil and hitting it with a cape cod cloth, I decided to have a little photo shoot. Below are the results. Oh, and the absolutely unworn 2813 will be up for sale shortly. Keep your eyes open!

Nice watch !! Got the same one and love it - an under appreciated Rolex in my view. I'm going for the black face older version next i think - enjoy :)

Thanks! The white face and orange GMT hand gives it a very clean, distinct look.

Great photography and great photo review! I fell in love with it so much that I bought the black version also. They are so comfortable that they are winning out on wrist time over the PAMs, and of course, all the others.

Photo reviews like this one will make buyers out of viewers.

I got the 2836 from a forum member who picked it up from a TD.

Nice watch, but the crown is angled, and freaking triangle still misaligned.

You can get a good, also no color difference hands and markers.

Great review boneyjr!

Nice pics!! Much better than my poo on the lens :giggle:

Great choice as the Explorer II has been under-rated for so long, always the bridesmaid to the Sub/DSSD.

I am not really noticing anything being misaligned. However, the differnce between the color of the hands and markers does annoy me a bit.

Which version did you get? I have a 42PO Factory and I have none of the issues Luth sees in yours. Maybe I have a different batch. My lume is even for shade and glow, and the crown/rehaut/triangle is centered.

Your triangle coronet is a very very litlle not centered.

Guess i am lucky to get one perfect centered

the degree of 'off-centeredness' is so minimal that I could really care less. It's only the lume difference that bothers me at all. Could that be fixed by having a mod re-lume it?

Great pics, great review. But - why the baby oil bit (I ask noobishly)?

the baby oil loosens up and dirt and grime inside these bracelets for an easy clean. A damn eggroll fell out last time i cleaned it!
