Prancuzas 0 Posted October 31, 2012 (edited) Okay, this is what i've found at my girlfriend. The movement is dead. Although winds and looks pretty clean. As far as i had a glance, it needs some work near the mainspring. Wind key does exist. Ofcourse it will need new dial and hands. Googled a bit, not very common version of Mermod Freres so i think i will have to improvise. No crystal. Case does exist but it does not close and locks. Looks pale green and will need lot of work too. Any thought if i should do something with this? It does not have lot of "historical value" to me as it's my girlfriend's grandpas, and the watch's destiny is to be on a shelf, just a question - renewed or not Edited October 31, 2012 by Prancuzas

J.Eric 693 Posted October 31, 2012 The movement would cool in a Pam case but not sure How you would wind it. Still looks cool. If any one can Get it going again, Chris at 10:10 repair can.

Prancuzas 0 Posted October 31, 2012 (edited) It's winded with square shaped key. Check the the unit/section on the far right of the movement. So as far as i understand You suggest to leave the dial as it is to get the 110% of retro? ) Edited October 31, 2012 by Prancuzas
PetshaFey 0 Posted October 31, 2012 yeah man, in my eyes (and i think many might think alike) when you get a new dial of get it repaired it will not look as old. the movement is the heart and should be fixed not replaced, and the dial is the soul the viewable soul of the historic valeu. I have no clue how much fixing this beauty will cost but I would sure wear the result with proud. Agree guys?
