It's fine that they have reps, but if you buy reps, buy good reps! And not that crap from Turkey or Spain when u are on vacation. I also wear a rep. It's a Rolex sea dweller from Torro. edil 28 Posted November 5, 2012 There's a store here where i live who used to sell omega watches, and they have a watchsmith, so when i bought my rep omega i went to him to resize the bracelet, he immediatelly knew it was a rep but a good one and told me to sell it to someone as a geniune omega watch. When accosted by an uncouth, sociopathic lout I hand one to him and tell all his enquiries will be answered if he signs up. I've handed out a lot of cards in the last few months. I try to figure out if they have any interest enough to start talking about watches. Hoping to make friends in the hobby because there are not many of the watch freaks around here. Crusader 0 Posted November 5, 2012 I would shake the guys hand and congratulate him on knowing which watch I'm wearing... meeting someone in person randomly who knows something about watches is rare If some stranger said I'm wearing a rep, I would say watevah man, none of your bussines. We were at a thing the other night and someone did the standard, "nice watch" in reference to my Pam 320. Before I had a chance to say "thank you" and move on, my wife jumps in with, " it is a replica. He has dozens and is addicted." Sigh .... So... since she is now sporting a noobmariner I sized for her, aka Cameron Diaz, I have since schooled her through the rules: Receive a compliment - say thankyou. Someone asks, rep or gen - if you know and like them, be honest, other wise feel free to tell them to get lost (I wouldn't lie about it though). I told her its the same deal when she gets a compliment on her Hermes Berkin - and she doesn't tell everyone that it's a fake.
