AP Jules (Minus Minute Repeater) Tourbillon

Recommended Posts

I have always been fasciated with the tourbillon, but have never wanted to be homeless to own one. So here is the next best thing I could find. I also have a YouTube video if you be interested in watching her fly! Seagull movement, SS case, double AR sapphire crystal and display back.

Beautiful watch, it's probably not a Seagull tourbillon movement, since most of the more affordable Seagull tourbillon movements aren't co-axial tourbillons, but it's still an amazing watch.

This is my JLC Master Tourbillon, which uses the non-skeletonized version of the same movement.

Mine was from Puretime.co, but if you have a preferred TD, they should be able to get it for you as well. Use PT2012XMAS for a 5% discount.

Very nice, here's mine. I much prefer the co-axial tourbillon movements that are used in your AP and my JLC.

Honeybear, after more research I think you're right. I was told by dealer it was a seagull, but I think it is the Hangzhou (PTS) FD3310 movement.

Thanks for the reminder to listen to the dealer, but always do your own research.

Yes, I remember looking into the type of movement, and it was a Hangzhou PTS of some sorts. The only co-axial tourbillon movement by Seagull that I'm aware of is the ST8260. Perhaps the easiest way to tell is the fact that the cannon pinion is right at the center of the dial, and in line with the crown.

I should mention that this photo is from Perpetual Watch, and they offer a tourbillon that uses the ST8260 for $1740. Over a year back, Seagull USA quoted me about $2600 for theirs, but said that prices would be shortly increasing to above $3000. It's a beautiful movement, and commands a significant premium over tourbillon movements from other brands, so it helps to know your movements.

It does. But not this skeleton. It's nice jewelry, but as a watch... Mmmm.... nope.

@honeybear - PTS is a trading company from HK, and they have nothing to do with Hangzhou watch factory. They sell movements from most chinese movements factories.
