SMP from Watchinternational

I purchased this watch from Mary of Watchinternation in December, 2009. Because I began communication with Mary too close to the Christmas rush, delivery seemed to take forever. But I'm impatient.

It's supposed to be fitted with an ETA-clone, but that's not been confirmed yet. When manually winding the watch, the crown does not turn easily, but rather seems to grind; unlike the ETA-clone in my LV Sub from Asian7750. It seems to keep very good time.

The pics:

Overall front view:

Very nice bracelets with round midlinks:

Clasp:

Dial:

Pearl:

One of two flaws. The bracelet pops out like this (sorry for the blurry pic):

The other flaw is, the bezel is VERY difficult to turn and sits halfway between minutes.

Wristie:

The crystal desperately needs AR; at certain angles it's nearly impossible to read the dial.

The links are held together by screws and the band fits snugly in it's present sizing. I wear it weekly, with blue shirts. :P I believe the helium valve is in the correct position.

Frankly, the watch looks better in these pics than it does in person. At least to my eyes.

Congrats, Doc, great watch!

I like the dial, the bracelet and especially the blue bezel.

First wrist shot is just WOW!!!

Not to shabby, Doc. Not bad at all. You took a few nice shots of it.

Nice Doc.

I think that band would benifit from a good clean and a bit of silicone spray lube.

Or BreakFree if you have it. That may help the bezel too.

The SMP rep seems to be incredibly good now: I have the old version that had the incorrectly placed bezel insert and yours looks much better. We saw the saga of choosing and getting photos of the watch from Mary (all good fun) so it's nice to see it all came together.

Nice looking watch and great pictures.

Wasn't this one the one we were questioning the color of the lume in Mary's pictures? I think they still look too yellow. The gen is pretty much white from what I've seen.

It might be fun to vintagize one of those.

Doc, how about the "lume" shot?

I suck at lume shots because I'm too lazy to get out my tripod, etc.

The hands, all three, lume brightly and last through the night with a decent charge. The hour markers lume very poorly. The lume is a nice green, def. not yellow or white.

It worked fine. The helium valve was in the correct position but the dial (wave pattern) was dull. Just didn't thrill.

Boo, wish I could make contact with her. Oh ya do you think its possible to get a blue bezel and black dial, and then just replace the dial with a black one off ebay if I got sick of it? Dunno how the whole compatibility thing works on these.

I just send a mail back to Mary with this picture:

4979545012_478c0df736_b.jpg

Basicly, i found that the newer models of the Seamaster 300m Pro have a case back just like the PO with this omega logo on the side ( see pic ). I also know that they are making really good replicas of the chronometer version with the sub dials as you can see here:

http://www.replica-watches-guide.com/forum...?showtopic=7613

So i think it might be possible to have a 300m pro version very close to this one above.

Does anyone know anything about it?

Thanks for the help!
