JSJ 0 Posted October 23, 2015 Hello How workest thaw here? All words in their own right. Put together in that order, they are utter drivel. See, this place is full of friendly advice.

davidmodic 1 Posted October 27, 2015 Thank you, very useful. I think there is one thing to add to the first post - There are some dealers who pretend to be TD's (they steal the whole webpages of TD's and buy a similar domain). I have bought several watches in the past few months and one of them was from a fake TD site. The page looked exactly the same as the real site (which I later discovered) and I did not pay enough attention to realize that I might be in trouble. The TD was moving form one URL to another at that time, so the link mentioned in some forum posts did not work. So I googled them and clicked on the first plausible link presented to me. The fake TD also copied all the endorsements and the warning to beware the fake sites ). Sure enough, I ordered something (crPO GMT with A2836) and two weeks later got something else (crPO with Miyota 8205). Complained, got nowhere, knew that I would be stupid to send it back and now it is gathering dust in my drawer. Just thought I'd share.

travesty 0 Posted November 2, 2015 "Just choose the watch, then choose the dealer." I've heard both ways but am 70% settled on a Gold/StSt blue Rolex Sub, so now it's time to choose the TD. TC has a great reputation here, and I like his blog a bunch (for those who haven't read it yet, do so). Am also going through the RWG list of TDs to get an idea of policies, brands they carry, etc. I have a few gen Rolexes, have spent hundreds of hours looking at them 'in the metal', and hence have a good feel for how things should look. This is a fun process!

Jpserv 0 Posted November 24, 2015 Thx for the info. Did a lot of research here among others and ordered my 1st from Andrew at trusty time. Breathing Navitmer and we'll see how this turns out.
black263 228 Posted November 24, 2015 Glad you got a breathing navitimer. It'a real disappointment when they are DOA.
greg_r 81 Posted November 24, 2015 Glad you got a breathing navitimer. It'a real disappointment when they are DOA. So long as its snorkel doesn't get blocked, should be okay...
black263 228 Posted November 24, 2015 It's no fun having a blocked snorkel. Best way to unblock it is to get a gen face and hands on it. Works every time.

Aliterme 0 Posted December 29, 2015 I was about to pay $1350 for a "swiss replica" and since I do some business in China my contact there had a friend who was going to give me a big discount on a "Grade A" replica as a favor. I'm glad I smelled a bunch of fishes and looked further!

black263 228 Posted January 11, 2016 This is very informative! I'm trying to read every single important sticky on here before getting my first rep Haven't found it signposted elsewhere, but one of the standard noob questions is about the ETA 7750 or the A7750 clone, and specifically what is wrong with the secs@6 on these movements. I've linked them in the sig below.
