sorry :(

fro daevildog at homage forum:

Modifying 6497 Stem to Fit a Cortebert 616??? Best Option?

Can't modify 6497 stems, they do not have the think section just before the threads. Got confirm from "Clint Eastwood" at RG (a god of modding given the results of his latest breathtaking project) that reathreading and use of Loctite are really the only options.

Tried rethreading stem, total train wreak even with attempt at heating stem before rethreading. Cortebert stems are 1.4mm. Even tried retapping crown... didn't work since metal is too thin at tube of crown.

Found great solution....there is a great watchsmith in Chico, California who will rethread stems (annealing and hardening of stems after rethreading) for $25 a piece. A great price, got other quotes for $45/piece. He specializes in vintage and antique watches. The guy even has equipment to fabricate parts too. I have having him service/clean my Cortebert to... Turn around time for job is 4-6 wks. Here is the link: http://timepieceshoppe.com/

Sorry mate, only 6497 stem is close to it... My others all are of smaller movements like 21j, 2836-2, etc.... Hope you get it trough homage forum!

Holy smokes!

Bloody beautiful amperes. Been hovering around Wotancraft for a while.

What's the texture like? Soft or more on the stiff side?
