The latest Noob CG really is THAT good...

Recommended Posts

projectologist

First pic gen, 2nd pic V3 Noob with a little fine tuning... slightly shortened lever tip (outer) and flatter cg/lever pin that was also recessed just a hair below flush with the top surface of the cg body.

It's a great time for PAM reps!!!! We've never had rep cg's this good before except for the short-lived Jimmy Fu A-F/G cg's.

Yep. They are nice. I remember when modding CG's was all the rage a few years ago.

The noob crownguard looks better than the gen (probably because it's less zoomed in)!

It's probably just me but it does look like the lever, the part were the roller ball is, has a slightly different shape. No way I could spot this life sized though.

Someone did a crown guard mod tutorial which was very good.

Excuse me whoever did the great crown guard mod tutorial.

It was really a nice looking job.

I thought it was HD, but it was a while ago, and I am probably wrong.

Excuse me whoever did the great crown guard mod tutorial.

The point we're making is it's not necessary anymore :)

I understood that...but not everyone has a new watch and may still want to mod a CG.

You can use the same mods I did/described for the Noob in my OP on earlier cg's and get similar results. The only additional mod would be squaring the inner corners of the cg body on earlier Noob and H factory cg's.

Those are the 3 mods I did to the cg on the HF 390 below...

The mods look great. :)

Nice photos too.

I am not gifted enough to attempt a watch mod of any kind.

Thanks... Pics were taken with my old iPhone 4 and the Camera+ app.

Go for it with trying the mods. If you've got a discarded rep sitting in a parts box, have at it. A little practice goes a long way and it's really soul satisfying to look down on your wrist and see a watch you've worked on with nice results.

Thank you projectologist, but frankly...I am blessed to look down and just be able to see the watch on my wrist. :D

even so... planning to get brave over this winter and open an old rep.

I have a new watch making book recommended by 10:10 and a basic tool kit.

I have been here a few years...but one must build up to these things you know.
