ALE7575 24 Posted December 16, 2012 (edited) Dear friends Puretime is offering a mood (really a franken) only for Noob watches, cahnging the asian Incabloc for a gen "Y" shaped Incabloc This is a very good initiative from Puretime Thanks and Congrats Angus The offer from Puretime is as follows: Panerai Swiss ETA-6497-2 Y-Incabloc Shock Protection System Mod This is the famous Y-Incabloc Mod for the Asian UNITAS-6497-2 21600vph movements, we only offer this mod to Pamerai watches made by Mr. Creme De La Creme (a.k.a. The Noob Maker). Just Add this item to your shopping cart which contains the Noob Panerai and we will mod the watch for you (please check the 5th product image for demonstration). Please note the QC pics will be sent before the mod is done because we will only mod the watch after you confirmed the watch, the quantity is VERY LIMITED and mod time can take up to 2-3 days depends on the orders we received, please wait patiently for the mod after you have confirmed the QC pics. We only use the Genuine Swiss ETA Y-Shapped Incabloc Shock Protection System Part for the mod (please check the 6th image for actual part package printing). The mod can be done on the following Noob Panerai Models: PAM000, PAM005, PAM111, PAM112, PAM127, PAM176, PAM177, PAM217, PAM219 and ALL other models (not listed or to be made in the future) which have UNITAS-6497 movement. Please consult sales team if you are not sure if the watch you want to purchase is from the Noob Maker, thank you. US$ 98 http://puretime.co/product/panerai-swiss-eta-6497-2-y-incabloc-shock-protection-system-mod/ I have carefully studied the pics from Puretime and for some details I can assure that this item is really an authentic Swiss Incabloc. Therefore we should talk about a Franken and not a simple Modd. Angus is offering to instal a gen item in our replicas. If this Incabloc is not a gen is a rep Incablock made EXACTLY to the gen. Below you can see enlarged the INCABLOC offered by Puretime There are two reasons I have to confirm this is a gen Incabloc, as follows. CURVED AND COMPLEX SHAPE AT THE TOP OF THE "Y" Usually the modds are made by filing the Incabloc and making two simple flat surfaces. In the pic you can see the shape of the material removed is more complex than a simple flat surface TWO NOTCH AT THE SIDES OF THE "Y" This is a very unkonwn feature of a gen Incabloc and I have never heard or read about that in rep world. As you can see at the below pic, marked in light blue, there are two little notch at the sides of the "Y". These notchs are very difficult to make by a simple modd, you would need a costly operation and that would not be worth. Nowadys I'm preparing in RWI a Thread about the last modifications to make current PAM reps closer to the gen. There are seven flaws to correct. I'm preparing this Thread (actually two threads) with the priceless cooperation of the RWI PCTeam member Rwolf who dennounced two of the seven current flaws. Please wait we need time to compile all pics and info. Wel, I have advanced a lot of things of the new thread. Please wait Rwolf and me for more info about these interesting matters. I hope this has been interesting for you ALE Edited December 16, 2012 by ALE7575

James. 4 Posted December 16, 2012 Ale as always you're a fount of knowledge, thanks for bringing this to out attention. So with correct dial and incabloc the noob 111 would be pretty much spot on to the Gen.
machiavegli 6 Posted December 16, 2012 One more reason to say Fuck Buying Gens -Mach
projectologist 0 Posted December 16, 2012 (edited) $98 for 1/2 of the second cut by CNC? The problem with that is that would cut through the plating and expose the bare brass underneath, so to look right you'd need to re-plate the cutout.. Cousins sells the OEM part for about $40usd, but it's a major PITA to install in an Asian movement. So the price Angus is charging is actually very reasonable. dutchie 0 Posted December 17, 2012 Good to know this. But this is only for the look? It doesn't make the movement better?
bowtiefanatc 16 Posted December 18, 2012 I believe it was one of the tells that it's a rep, having this mod definitely makes it very very close to Gen look and feel.
