Upgrading AP diver with Swiss ETA movement.

Recommended Posts

For anyone with an opinion:

Theoretically, if one had a budget of say $1k how would you spend it upgrading the AP diver v3.5 with Swiss ETA movement. Please reserve comments to the case (not strap/buckle). Upgrading can be anything you would think to improve this piece not only as a rep but as a watch (I personally don't care if it is a 1:1 rep, I would almost rather have a better watch that is an Homage).

Also if you have an opinion, please comment on "what would be a better movement".

Lastly, if this has already been covered in another thread please feel free to make any denigrating remarks but point me to that thread.

1. Relume

2. Swap to a low beat ETA movement as per gen

3. BigCrown cyclops (if it turns out better than the V3.5 cyclops)

Pretty much all you can do to perfect it.

I am not necessarily looking to make it more gen like, just trying to improve the watch.

If highbeat/lowbeat accuracy doesn't bother you, I would only get it waterproofed for around $200 including shipping back and forth. You can then enjoy it and use it as the gen (i.e. swim with it) without fear. Everything else is so close to gen as to not be worth the m'ony to change!
