Lev 6 Posted December 30, 2012 I haven't joined a forum in a while so I figured I'd introduce myself! I'm Lev, I'm 22, from Berlin originally but currently live in Boston. I only recently became interested in watches, mostly for 3 reasons: 1. When I saw Casino Royale (2007). Fantastically crafted film, elegant, sophisticated and very cool. That seen where she asks "Former SAS types with loud mouths and expensive watches. Rolex?" "Omega." Classic. So yeah that's reason number 1. 2. My step father collects watches and he has two Breitlings that I love. He instructed me in watches I suppose. 3. I always wanted a Breitling. Someday! I currently do not own any replicas but I have about 5 watches that I switch back and forth between. Two of them my girlfriend gave me (bless her). A nice little Fossil Ansel watch with a leather band for my birthday. She actually remembered that I wanted a new watch months prior (I even forgot) and surprised me. A Guess GC Swiss Made Chronograph (my favorite) for Christmas. Initially a sceptic, I am now a full fledged fan of GC. Great watches. I have a Rotary Chronomatic that is essentially an homage to the Breitling Navitimer, which is entirely the reason I got it. It was a whole ordeal and my girlfriend initially wanted to buy it for me but online it wasnt to be had for less than 180. I however found it at TJ Maxx here and it was 100 bucks. She bought me the GC which cost around 250 because she liked it more. I went back because I really needed to have the Rotary and it was marked down to 70. My luck. I have a Festina sports watch that needs a new battery and then a Fossil steel band watch my Mom got me for my 17th birthday or so? Looks a bit like a Rolex I suppose. Also an Unlisted brand Chronograph impulse buy, made my Kenneth Cole. My mom got me that as well. Obviously no Panerais or Pateks but I love my watches as they all have a meaning to me. The collection will definitely grow. I use to have a Breitling replica I bought in Turkey but the band broke quite soon after. Little did I know. Now I am a grown up with my own money! Hope everyone had a great Christmas, Hanukkah or whatever you celebrate! It'll be 2013 soon ey? Crazy.

Lev 6 Posted December 31, 2012 Welcome aboard mate. Wie ghets ? A good place to start reading is the noob link in my signature. How you enjoying Boston? Mir gehts gut, danke! Yeah Boston is alright, but having grown up in Berlin and lived in Madrid and pretty much traveled around, it's quite mundane compared to other cities. You just can't take Europe out of me. American passport or not! Boston just has no style and it's a very racist, segregated and isolated city. Culturally I mean. Nonetheless, been living here for about 2 years now and I've got things going well, so for now it'll do. Almost a new year guys! Hope you all have a good one and guten rutsch (good slide) as us Germans say!
wooda 0 Posted December 31, 2012 Luckily for you there are some really good reps of Breitlings and a wide range of models are available unlike some other brands like JLC.
DR3M3L 6 Posted December 31, 2012 Nice introduction, welcome mate! Hope you'll find all the needed information yourself, if not just throw a question! You'll be amazed by the quality of some breitling rep's like the SOSF v2! Enjoy your stay and see you around!
Lev 6 Posted December 31, 2012 So as a noob, i've been checking the trusted dealers section and stumbled upon Silix! The selection is fantastic and they have two of the watches I'd really like, till I'm able to afford the real thing. I've read the RWG FAQ. Seeing as these are trusted dealers, I'd suppose these watches aren't going to fall apart very soon are they? I personally don't care if they're waterproof because I dont even go into water with my waterproof watches. Just a comfort choice. I'd like to get an Omega Seamaster and Breitling Navitimer or Bentley. Any bought from Silix lately?
Mazz 62 Posted December 31, 2012 Silix is a good dealer. Remember that you get what you pay for.

Lev 6 Posted December 31, 2012 im sure you cant compare a 30 dollar replica to a high end one. i was interested in the high end models. id definitely be willing to pay 250 bucks for a good replica. ive had a garbage replica before and i paid like 30 euros for it. glad to hear silix is a good dealer! thanks for the warm welcomes! I spent 10 years there, Undergrad and graduate school and got my first job there as well. I thought Boston was a great city, and I hope you will have better experience there. One thing for sure, it is cold. Are you still in school? Edited December 31, 2012 by goodgood
Lev 6 Posted January 3, 2013 You definitely should speak some russian too, no? Da, nemnoga! Moy Papa ukrainskom i moya Mama germano-polskoy! Moya babuskha govorili ruski u sebya doma! I never grew up with it but I've taught myself and continue to learn. Definitely not perfect. Welcome aboard mate. Wie ghets ? A good place to start reading is the noob link in my signature. One thing for sure, it is cold. Are you still in school? Yeah I'm sorry, I wasn't more eloquent. I do like Boston; however in contrast to most places I've been it's just subpar. It has too many problems. I have family in Lowell, so I've been familiar with Boston for a while. It's just difficult. Rent is too expensive here and the public transportation is horrendous. But I do have a wonderful girlfriend here and we will eventually move back to Berlin. I went to Suffolk University for a year but the Madrid Campus. I wasn't ready to move to the US and leave my beloved Europe. I personally love the cold though! It reminds me of home. So much less harsh words- I like Boston and I don't like it. Lev 6 Posted January 5, 2013 Ny prekrasno, Levyshka!!! Tyt mnogo rysskix. Byd' kak doma. Спасибо мой друг! Я Действительно не считаю себя русским/украинским! I consider myself German first (born and raised there), I speak German and English as my first languages but I was raised as a German of Slavic descent. We eat Russian food and my grandparents spoke Russian to me as well! Anyone who's been to Berlin knows that it is still called Berlingrad (as a joke).
