scorpion 0 Posted December 31, 2012 Ok well its out and the results were not good, in fact the results were pretty bad................ Its all foggy and wet and frozen, the glass actually is covered in a layer of hard ice. Cant see display yet as it needs to thaw out........... Ok so the ice has melted but its bad news, the whole displays have gone no LCDs at all its totally fucked Except the analogue movement seems ok and the seconds hand is moving. :help3: But after a good wipe and warming up to above zero it started to show a feint sing off life then suddenly it was all back...................... But the missing segments are still missing However I am very relieved its back to as before and no permanent damage seems to have occurred after its deep freeze and soaking. No water seemed to have got inside it, it was sold as being WR but I don't usually believe the claims especially as it has 4 push buttons as well as a screw down crown. Also the back is a four screw job not screw down type but it does have a substantial O ring gasket inside the case. Anyway I am I happy I tried it as it was worth a go and I got my $25 refund today from the TD as well so no worries. Next issue coming soon.... photo shot of movement removal and disassembly when I will use some contact cleaner on the circuit board and rubber connectors.
