The thing stopt working, Breitling SO Abyss 42mm

Recommended Posts

#21

Well, it stopt working. At first no problems of what so ever! After a month or so the watch would stop. A little slap on the thing and it would run again.

Now it has stopped moving at all. I openend up the caseback, it looks fine to me. After a little spin of that golden wheel, it will run.

It is fitted wit an Asian 2824-2.

Who knows how i can fix the SO with some DIY?

Thanks,

Yep, sounds like it needs a service. Wiz is a TD in France, though he is not taking on new work at the moment, and 10:10 Watch Repair is in USA, and from my personal experience, does great work.

Have you tried winding it manualy? Maybe just needs a manual start up again and wearing every day for a while.

I don't understand, a service after maybe two weeks of wearing the watch. But who knows, it might do the trick.

I am not going to send the watch overseas for a cleaning. To expensive for a $200 watch.

I did wind it op manually, it run for an hour....

I might be looking for a watch doctor in The Netherlands ho is wiling to repair a rep.

Well, the movement is Asian clone.... they dont spend too much time making sure everything is clean and lubricated properly. Unfortunately, its a part of the hobby.

Thanks Ron. I live in Amersfoort. Have to be in Weert a few times a year for work. So that is not a problem.

I might spray a little WD40 in the watch.

And you are wright, it is a rep... And not the €2000 real thing.

I thought about that to. I have a CW watch I hardly wear. And it has an 2824-2 inside.

I guess it needs a good clean and lubrication, it will stop again sooner or later.

I have a gen eta 2836-2. See my previous post.

Source from a reliable watch smith in Singapore. If you want a Eta2824-2 I might be able to help you.

You pay for shipping.

You do know that a automatic watch does still need to be wound manually? I wind mine 20 -30 times before I put them on.
