edwinowl 180 Posted January 6, 2013 Guys just a few pics of my recently purchased Rolex Comex on Nato strap.. Bought this on another forum as it was something for me thats a little different. It's a basic DSSD with Swiss ETA and just has great wrist presence. Being honest I'm not a big Rolex fan but love this one. I'm putting a link to one of the many Comex stories which I reckon is really fascinating for those that don't know much about the Comex link up. http://www.ginault.com/Rolex/Comex-Sea-Dweller.html Enjoy the pics anyway. onionbag 1 Posted January 6, 2013 Is there such a beast as a gen Comex DSSD?
Luthier 1 Posted January 6, 2013 Nope. This one has Sub's dial.
edwinowl 180 Posted January 6, 2013 No sir it's a fantasy really. But I love it. Great wrist presence though. Cheers Luth bythway.
onionbag 1 Posted January 6, 2013 Nope. Didn't think so, but an interesting marriage nonetheless........and nice pics edwinowl.
edwinowl 180 Posted January 6, 2013 It's a James Bond NATO mate , interesting story as he wore it over a diving suit in Goldfinger the Nato was 16mm not 20mm. Apparently there were no 20mm Natos around. http://rolexblog.blogspot.co.uk/2009/07/real-james-bond-watchstrap-comes-to.html?m=
Corv99 2 Posted January 6, 2013 nice one mate, likewise not a big Rolex fan, there are a couple of nice ones I have seen close up, and like the look of this one too, nice combo

Haltec 0 Posted January 6, 2013 (edited) Not a big fan of natos, but this one looks just perfect match, mate. Exactely. I love Comex branded Rolex's. This is really great combo. Ceramic bezel, chunky, no date align issues, simple and clean. One of the best combos I've seen here so far. Watch would be beautifull with 6105 dial imho http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_bG7MHzUK68k/TQNYi_fMBtI/AAAAAAAABLs/0486ctzZOnY/s1600/SEIKO+6105-8119+460159_Dial+3.JPG BR Haltec Edited January 6, 2013 by Haltec

solkryssare 109 Posted January 7, 2013 Cool idea putting a 5514 dial in a DSSD Like!
Chrisby 1 Posted January 7, 2013 Great pics! Although I'm not into Rolex this is a nice watch and looks good on the nato. I have seen this one 'in the flesh' and it's looks even better on! Fantastic purchase
baxter 6 Posted January 7, 2013 Nice one mate it does look lovely - you've got a unique watch there
Burnleybezel 53 Posted January 7, 2013 I'm liking it, looks better than the standard DSSD. The NATO is the right choice. Nice enjoy. B.B

JohnPilot 1 Posted January 7, 2013 Great piece, just some aging would do some benefit to it.
edwinowl 180 Posted January 7, 2013 Considered ageing but I don't think this is the right piece with ceramic bezel. I think if it weren't the DSSD but a sterile case then ageing would be right.
JohnPilot 1 Posted January 7, 2013 You are right. Mine has the old bezel, which was good for aging. Didn't notice the ceramic bezel.
