RichardMiami 4 Posted January 7, 2013 Is this Gen or Rep??? .
NFleischer 4,355 Posted January 7, 2013 Is that supposed to be a new gen? At best used, may be a rep, hard to tell, the Santos are some scary reps. I'm not sure the rubber version is the super ultimate 1:1 though. The box looks good at least.
Realism 72 Posted January 7, 2013 hard to tell on the santos... but guts say rep because the books, and box looks too nice if pre-owned... no signs of it ever touched
Amit 72 Posted January 7, 2013 very hard to say but maybe you have sharper eyes than me. the cariter on dial looks less bold to me compared to: http://modernvintage...-and-strap-nib/
P4GTR 0 Posted January 7, 2013 books/papers look gen. I'm no expert to help with the watch itself. Looks well made whatever it is!
RichardMiami 4 Posted January 7, 2013 I am beginning to think its a fraud.... gen pics and scam sale. I queued it up in Paypal, and the the email address to the payee was very weird... so I cancelled.

Higs 73 Posted January 7, 2013 but guts say rep because the books, and box looks too nice if pre-owned... no signs of it ever touched I'm not sure that's valid. The watch certainly looks used (but not abused) and the box and papers look pristine. But it could be that the owner bought it, put box and papers in the cupboard, wore the watch daily until deciding to sell it and got the box out again. Realism 72 Posted January 7, 2013 might be the $800 santos with gen parts on them... but scary and true super rep for sure

I've bought 3 pre owned watches (AP,PP, GP) and all of the books have some kind of bend marks telling me that the owners had at least browsed through their booklets at one time or another... true or not I am basing it off personal experience

onionbag 1 Posted January 7, 2013 I seem to remember that the clincher for the gen/rep dilemma on these, is that the clasp screw-heads on.the gens are flat.

ks653 0 Posted January 7, 2013 The pic is defn gen... On the 4 numeral, look at the gap between the 2nd and the 3rd bar (the middle one).. On the gen, the gap between the 2nd and the 3rd bar is greater than the gap between 1st & 2nd and 3rd and 4th... On the ultimate version, all 3 gaps are the same... Only the 1:1 super ultimate version that silver speed has, has the correct gap on the 4 numeral but like he said, there was no 1:1 ultimate with rubber bezel. All other ultimates I have seen have this issue. See pic in next post...
