Dangerous9 has some very nice shots of B&R 02 SS on leather. Much nicer than rubber any day. It looks better when the leather is cut to match. Regular leather strap just won't do. I've been searching for a used XL strap for a month now with no luck. I believe Serge and I will be working something out soon!

OK after reading and seeing this one I've changed my mind on the leather for the BR 02. That combo in the pic is awesome.

Leather works.

But not straight leather.

I think once you've seen either the rubber or another leather strap that mates with the shape of the case, you've got to go that way.

A noob's viewpoint (FWIW)... I've never really been into rubber, more of a leather man, myself.

Now *there's* a statement to be taken two ways... Fnar, fnar...

:drool:indeed.. Does anyone know where this strap came from? I'm seriously considering an upgrade to this combo if it can be got!

Damn, that chap has some fine skills! Any idea what kind if damage I should expect to do to the wallet for one of these leather beauties?

In my opinion the 02 on SS works very well on leather (as proven here!), especially the 02-94 chrono.. keep the PVD on the rubber

D9 straps are gorgeous.

spendy, but if you are intending on keeping your watch, worth every penny.

don't forget to order the tool set from brbands too!

Aha - my vote tipped the balance to 'NO' (now 17 votes to 16).

Keep the rubber.

I was actually thinking of a custom one for a Daytona 6263, and possibly the GTXL too - my BR02 is PVD, though I'm now tempted to grab a SS 02-94 from Josh (he's got the ETA priced pretty cheap)

Check out serge(d-straps) if you're going custom. I'm going to send him my rubber rep strap so he can cut to the same dimensions as soon as I can find some $. Also, 2 Br-02 straps just hit M2M that would be killer on non-SS.

The PVD is fine. I beat the crap out of my watches, and there are no chips or wear. What you see in the pic is dust. The only item is the screw heads. Look carefully at the four of them outside the bezel at 11, 1, 5 and 7. You will see that they are colored wrong. That is because they rusted and I have tried to deal with that. I should find four black screws to fit, but I am too damn lazy.
Tsssssssssssk...I told you to DRINK from the fountain of youth...not bathe in it...

Crap.. I knew I was doing something wrong....

OK.. so now I will save on towels.

Got the BR straps.

Great deal for $60 each. The grey-brown leather with orange stitch looks good I think. I will have to try the kevlar soon as well.

I voted yes but I am biased towards leather strap on all my watches.

Just bought this strap from Bigbuys on M2M and put it on my toro special. Leather all day for my BR-02.

Awesome combi! But then again, it may be the leather that is looking Superb and hard to go wrong on that one.
