I vintaged me a Rollie

Recommended Posts

Had a few hours last weekend, so I whipped up a vintage Rollie. Really not a big fan of this brand, been trying hard, but I can't get past the girlie size of these watches (no offense to anyone  ). Figured if I made me a vintage, put in a tall crystal and tossed it on a bund to beef it up I may come around. Haven't got the bund done yet, but here's how she turned out.

Looks great mate! Nice to see that you didn't completely beat it up, this is how I like my vintage watches :)

I'm so bad at doing DIY's and build threads I start building and then think about it half way thru. Basically I used a brown wash (brown paint highly watered down) and graphite powder.

If you can preserve the white painting, it may look better. Another tip, you may like to try using coffee to dye the markers... or soot from an incense to age the dial... it gave me very good result like a gen!

Good points. Usually I use graphite powder which is what I did on the second one I'll be posting this week but I took it to another level. Stay tuned.
