_DC_ 218 Posted January 31, 2013 First off I wanna explain my obsession with the Nautilus. I'm definitely a man of two halves, half smart professional businessman, and half tattooed heavy music fan couch potato. So it's not easy to find one watch that is suitable in all scenarios. I started off with Breitlings which, although great for the latter half, don't work so well in the business environment. They're a bit too big and brash. Then I moved on to a Rolex DateJust, perfect sleek sophisticated watch for business, but in jeans and t-shirt its just a little too delicate. So enter the Patek Nautilus, sporty enough to be a casual watch for weekends, but understated, modestly sized and classy enough to wear with a three piece suit. The following pics illustrate my point (I hope) So my other problem is that I get bored too easy, one day I dig SS bracelets and the next I'm all about leather straps and pretending I'm mature (I try). So the only solution was a pair, and I'm glad I did coz I have literally got the best of all worlds! I'm also a sucker for a shiny box so for all those weirdos like me who dig unboxing here's how it went down First the hessian style outer box Lifted to reveal the high gloss mahogany inner box. The whole thing is very heavy and substantial, which I love, and has a beautiful deep shine wood grain In all it's glory And finally the watch itself This combo of box and A4813 Nautilus I got from WI and they were nothing short of a pleasure to deal with once I realised I wasnt their only customer so couldn't expect instant replies (typical over-expectant noob)! I also picked up a beautiful SW200 from M2M with grey dial and leather strap to complete my set. I have to say that the quality though slightly better on the SW200 is still superb on the A4813, and there really isn't much in it in terms of fit and finish, quality in hand or sweep. The real difference is obviously the movement, and when setting date and time the SW200 is significantly smoother and more precise with every click of the datewheel. In terms of closeness to gen I don't want to cover ground that's already been covered, but the SW200 dial apears closer at first glance due to the date window, though the raised stripe pattern on the A4813 is actually closer to gen with the correct number of stripes and positioning of the lettering etc. Anyway, all of this is just a precursor to what you all came for which are pics, so here's a bunch I snapped today! Quality engraving on the deployment clasp of the SW200 That beautiful (if not particularly true to gen) SW200-1 movement And a final side by side Hope you enjoy the pics, and everyone should go out and buy one if not two of these, they are superb, even the cheaper A4813 is a joy to wear!
