Recommended Posts

I received my 42mm planet ocean with swiss eta today. I got right on to modding by installing a crystal from SunnyDale @ RWI. It looks much much better now.

Everybody to his own but the blue is inaccurate to gen so that's something.

Very nice Tom!!!

It looks awesome with Sunny crystal.

How hard was for you to fit the crystal??

Can´t wait to have my crystal to go forward with this mod.

Wear it in good health mate!

Cheers!

For me, it was really easy. Don't know how its gonna be on a LM model. Just make sure you have a crystal press and all

Yes, I have the crystal press and my watch repair kit ready for the job.

Question here: did you toke off the bezel in order to install the crystal?

Cheers!

Bezel stays on. Crystal pops out nicely. Just put Gen dial, hands, tube and crown on mine. Still waiting for my sunnydale crystal. Must take a while to get to the states? Yours looks awesome.

Thanks for the input.

I received my crystal today, in fact arrived yesterday but I was not home so I had to go to usps office and pick it up. I think it took like 6-7 days to arrive, I´m located in Southern California.

I did this:

1. Open the case back.

2. Remove the crown stem.

3. Remove the movement.

4. From the inside remove the crystal using a watch crystal press. In some cases the crystal will pop out just by pressing with your fingers.

5. Place the new crystal and firmly press it using the right nylon die size on the watch press.

6. Put the movement back.

7. Close the case back. I also put some silicon grease to the gasket.

8. Clean your watch and voilá!

The use of finger or hand latex gloves is highly recommended for this job.

Cheers!
