Why so many PAM and Rolex?

Recommended Posts

Joshle

Hi,

I am new in the watch world... I own a Rolex and Cartier (Gen) and am looking for more traditional watches (IWC Portuguese, Jaeger Master, PP Calatrava), basically simple movement and simple watches.

As I am browsing the forum and the TD websites I see a lot of PAM and Rolex available at great prices and not that many watches like the ones I am looking for.

Is there a reason for that? Is it because the movements of these watches are easier to make?

Sorry for this newbie question but I am trying to know more about the Rep business as I cannot spend $10,000 every time I want to have something new on my wrist...

thanks!

Like any other marketplace, the replica watch world is a business. For profit.

The factories make the watches that are in demand, knowing that they can sell 1,000s.

There is no profit in tooling up to make a watch that will only be bought by a few people.

So basically, PAM and Rolex are the best sellers and this is why there are so many, gotcha.

Now I don't own any PAM as I think these are too big for my wrist, any recommendations on a smaller looking PAM? 111?

I have incredibly small wrists and the PAM 111 fom ToroBravos looks good on me. I didn't like the PAMs all that much until now. It's a great piece.

Go with the regular one, if my petite wife can pull off a 42mm watch, you'll be fine with 44mm. And because, of course, the PAM is AWESOME!!

I've been a little afraid to admit this since there are so many of them on this forum, but I really don't see the appeal of PAM watches, they look really basic....... just sayin' lol!

I'll get my coat!

Some people like "basic" rather than baroque. Coat off.

Well there are several

- grand Master thin

- Master control

- Master Memovox

- Master Tourbillon

Basically nothing too complicated, I am looking for a nice low key watch... (despite the fact that is is a JL)

Also looking for a PP Calatrava and IWC Portuguese

All of these watches in Rose Gold and brown leather band.

Do you have any tip?

I have a PP Calatrava in Rose Gold on black strap, there aren't really any quality reps of these so it's just a 21j manual wind Asian movement, and it's actually 40mm rather than 36mm so a little large too but it's great for black tie situations or weddings lol!

Love it! Where did you get it?

From my point of view these watches are so rare that a nice rep is very tough to find...
