KeNnY 29 Posted February 10, 2013 [TUTORIAL] MWC Watch SUPERLUME and Waterproofing Hey all, So now I got an homage watch for SUPER DUPER MEGA GIGA relume job and waterproofing. A mate wants to use this watch for diving, so we will need to check it if what they state is true. Also he wants to have super bright lume, lumed second hand, no matter the cost or puffiness so we will provide it to him What we did to the MWC watch: - SUPER relume of C3 Superluminova, 2 layers, big puffy relume - UV Gluing of the crystal, waterproofing - Pressure test 6 BARs - Movement regulation COSC limits Our stock watch, with relatively good lume, but we will make it MORE SUPER ! So remove the movement with dial and prepare it for relume. The dial doesn’t have removable indexes, but the lume is printed to dial, so this is ULTRA difficult to relume free hand, but if you have some number of dials after you, you will know some grift how to do it. You must not SPEED the things up ! SO use TRITEC binder, what you can work with it longer, before it will dry. So you can take nice detail. The relume of this dial took I think more more then half hour. Mix the lume with binder in that ratio that it will not run much but will be able to work with it in detail Half way there and so far so good !!! This will be one awesome relume ! And we are finished. As you can see I used the finest oiler for relume of the dial, so I can make it really nice and sharp. WOWOWOWOHOOOO that is bright ! This will burn the came lenses ! I relumed the hands 2 times, to match the dial strongest lume. After 24 hours of drying we need to put all back together to check the results. Looks great in daylight but how it is in night ? THAT GLOOOOOWS ! Now lets do the case with pearl for our freshly relumed watch. Also lets glue the crystal to the case in the process, so Push out the crystal, put UV glue on the gasket around crystal, push it back, and cure it in UV light machine Assemble back together Grease caseback orings and crown orings in process and seal the caseback with right tool ! Lets pressure test, but all will be good there ! Hmmmm, I wonder how that will look in water at nice depth FINAL QC SHOTS !!! HOPE you like it , and thanks for watching ! Last time i tried to buy from tritec they wanted some 33.20 CHF/ g + shipping for fine grain C3. If i calculate it correct its like $35.
