[TUTORIAL] Beautification of White Tony Special OMEGA Ploprof and easy modding

Hey all,

When I am already in PROLOF spree serial MODDING why not give a small touch up for the White TONY special ploppy as well ? :) Some easy and small mods, maybe great to test your skills :)

For this tutorial we will use Omega Ploprof White TONY SPECIAL 21J movement watch and we will do following

- FULL RELUME with BG-W9 color superluminova (only hands and dial indexes, as bezel insert has white paint painted, and don’t know to what depth and don’t want to mess this up, as no replacement will be provided)

- Removing white paint from hands to give silver look like gen

- Regulate movement within COSC limits

- Fix deployment slipping issue

So lets see our watch

Not bad, but white hands is not gen like, and as well, I am lumewhore, and I LOVE LUME,s o I will relume it in progress :)

Gen watch for reference

So lets again disassembly our beauty.

Here you can see the construction of the ploprofs, as you can freely replace the movement for ETA, all you need is only stem, hands and that is all :) Here is also small hint for you to remove the STEM, there is small button so hold the crown and take it out and gently push the button. Before that align hands for easy removal.

Remove holding screws that hold movement with the case

Now lets remove hands :)

Remove dial from the movement ring

Put white hands to the acetone, and remove the lume from orange hand with ear cotton buds filled with acetone. Watch out not to take off the orange color.

Now from bottom side of the dial remove the glue that holds indexes and push them out with pin.

Soak the indexes into acetone for 24 hours and then prepare them for relume with hands. Relume then after that and keep dry for 24 hours again :)

Assemble them back to the dial ! Fix the indexes with small drop of GS hypo cement, and also fix them from other side as well with the GS hypo cement.

To better times ! :)

Assemble back to the case.

You can grease the orings in the process, just in case :)

Our watch GLOWS SUPERLLY now !! :) happy :D

Now just fix that slipping micro adjustment ! Here is simple fix I did, just glue some metal part that will push the deployment and will not contact the micro adjustment part.

I put on my welding helmet before viewing this one but the lume was not as bright as the other post!!!! Nice guide - one question, removing all the little parts seems a big job is it not easier to lume them on dial? I think I would end up breaking them or losing them if I pulled them all off!

Great job Kenny! It's always interesting seeing the finish in the parts of the watch which aren't meant to be seen. China really spends the time only where it's needed.

Thank you buddy ! :D hahaha yeah C3 green is strongest, and aqua is not that strong :D

better to remove the indexes and old lume, fore better results, also less risk spilling lume on dial ! yeah mate, that is the risk, you need to watchout not to loose something :D

Very nice! But greedy me expect to see how to relume the bezel~ :-)

Thank you buddy ! :) hahaha yeah, if it was that easy :( but maybe one day I will do it, but you need to find a way to print the dial with mirror coating on the numbers and the rest is just to relume :)

Thank you buddy, and happy to help :)
