10:10 Watch Repair 1 Posted February 16, 2013 Congratz Jeff.I am not a RLX fan, but this one looks really great. And the pcs are awesome as well Greetz Uwe Thanks Uwe. I never thought that I would be a gen Rolex owner, but after being on the quest for the perfect DSSD, this is where I ended up. Only thing left now is the holy hand grenade. Balad1 0 Posted February 16, 2013 The only problem with new gens for me, is that I find I don't wear them because I'm afraid of scratching them. And I don't have anything as near as nice as Jeff's DSSD ($10K), just two Oris gens ($2K & $3K). WTF?
Planemo 0 Posted February 16, 2013 Is the gen water resistant? I underestimated how wealthy you are Jeff.. 3 gens back to back? But... I thought you were married? Yes, water resistant. Boo Not married. As a wannabe gen DSSD owner myself, my plan will be to simply swop out my rep for a gen. The Mrs will never know the difference. In fact, it's about the only decent bit of money I could spend on myself without the Mrs batting an eyelid. I told her my rep dssd was £50, which she can live with. I would have no chance of getting away with spending £7k on a car/motorbike/boat etc. so the watch route might be my saviour.

They are supposed to be worn and enjoyed, which I do.

LondonBB 0 Posted February 17, 2013 I've been tempted to buy a gen DSSD for a while now as I've lived with rep versions for 18 months and the novelty hasn't worn off. My issue though is can I really justify spending so much more and will the gen really be that much better.

LondonBB 0 Posted February 17, 2013 Tempted, I am! Just need a good business month to shove me over the edge. I definitely need to go to an AD to try a gen DSSD on and see how it looks and feels in comparison to the gen.

Wriggles 12 Posted February 17, 2013 Nope. Ireland. Help is definitely not the word I'd use! :P I'm slowly convincing my brain back into my "never buy a fugly Rolex" mindset that I've stood by for years....I'm just repeating to myself "it was a brief lapse in sanity" over and over again while rocking slowly in the corner.....
