UmpaHimself 223 Posted March 2, 2013 Nice Ploprof umpa, it looks really nice, I might eventually try one of those some day... Enjoy!! Thanks mate. It's no joke, but the rubber strap really supports it. We'll see when it's on mesh later this month.
LHOOQ 0 Posted March 2, 2013 Wow, that is really nice. Details? I may write a longer post about it in the future, but sure! The Junghans Fliegerchronograph was issued to West German Luftwaffe pilots from 1957 to 1966. The manual-wind chronograph movement is Junghans Kal. J88. This Fliegerchrono was preceded by the Hanhart 417 (one of Steve McQueen's daily wearers), and followed by the Heuer Bundeswehr chrono. I'm not sure about the production year of mine, but it's probably from the early 1960s. I can honestly say that I've never seen one in such good condition before. These aren't stainless steel cases; on most examples, you'll see the brass through the nickel plating. These are surprisingly hard to find and, yes, I had been searching for one for three years!
