yawn 122 Posted February 26, 2013 (edited) Hello guys, I recently sent my ploprof for modding and I have been researching the tells on V2 ploprof ever since, here are a few: 1. Wrong hands colour, gen has a gloss steel finish, where rep has a white paint over it, the min hand's orange colour is also a bit off, 2. Date wheel number is a huge tell, gen has a much thicker number, where rep's is very thin, 3. Rep V2 ploprof's logo has happy feet 4. On the side of case, where all slops meet, the joint is not aligned Photos are listed below between rep and gen: Rep ploprof: Gen: In conclusion, V2 ploprof is nowhere near perfection and above-mention tells are quite easy to address, but sadly we have no idea when there will be a V3. Edit: Now include clasp comparison the inside of the clasp is very badly made by rep, and the clicker usually will not close properlly, which caused me some heart attack when my watch almost fall off. once again, the overall quality is kind of poor and the pusher is not that smooth compare to gen. Edit 2: Now the watch is completed by Master Goin and ready to be shipped back, i m very excited now, without further adue, here is the photo: Before: Phase 1 Phase 2: The logo is swapped to a non-happy feet The hand is repainted with sliver colour to look like gen The bezel number now have a sliver undercoat Fully relumed Edlt: more photos: Other thing i have noticed about V2 ploprof is, the size of HE valve, gen has flatter and thinner HE valve compare to the domed and fatter shape of rep v2. The Font I can say is good maybe depends on maker But Logo can be changed, also hands removed white paint and repainted orange for more gen like color as well with White relume. My QC shot: I would repaint the black paint in bezel with a glossy color similar to mirror or simply put there reflective disk full relume but with more white daylight lume even if only C1 Aqua , remove of white paint of hands, repaint the orange with more accurate metal orange, the datewheel is good mate Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

KeNnY 29 Posted February 26, 2013 When I look at the bezel insert, it is possible to relume the bezel insert but really hard to make it straight so I would better remove the black paint and put there some glossy finish layer, to mimic the reflective bezel insert text, relume of the hands and dial is mandatory I am going to create this black and white combo on mine As I am waiting V2 case so will do some modding or make V2 white mine Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
allex 0 Posted March 6, 2013 AFAIK the non-white V2 ploprofs are pretty much there - just the whiteness of the bezel markers caused by the paint application to the bezel itself, not the insert and the clasp fix. Rep had a domed shape, gen on the other hand is flat, I checked it personally in AD. It's a easy mod, you just need a file and some micro fiber sand paper.
