What model is this?

Recommended Posts

Morning gents,

Just a quick question. I'm about to pull the trigger on this cheapie PAM from timeshops,

http://www.timeshops.net/10168-pa0690-panerai-luminor-black-dial-ss-lt-asian-6497-manual-wind.html

I particularly love the "OP" logo on the dial, but I don't actually know what model this is?

Does anybody have any clues as to the model number?

PAM freaks, assemble!

Cheers,

Alex

Not to derail OP, but my question doesn't deserve its own topic.

To Pam owners, theses watches look very simple exterior design wise, which is a good thing for me. Unlike a rolex or Omega rep can you get a really good Pam rep cheap since they seem to look pretty simple?

maybe it's a fantasy, the 112 has no logo and the 000 has a sausage dial

PAM 360 if I recall correctly

I thought it may have been, though i've only ever seen 360's with a PVD finish. Still, its a beautifully simple design.

There are some excellent Panerai reps in the $220 - $350 range. There are some decent cheapies too, but they're still cheapies.

PAM 360 if I recall correctly

360 is DLC coated, closed caseback and sausage dial

PAM 000N but it's not quite right, so as a cheapie I would say actually fantasy model. LUMINOR and PANERAI should be either side of the canon pin, not up at the 12 position and this is sandwich and not sausage dial

I may be corrected but reckon this is it

hmmm - instead of relying on memory I looked up the 360 and you're right, it's PVD/DLC. My bad... hmmm.. scratching my head here, as that's the only base PAM I've seen with patina lume AND logo dial. The 390 is similar, but lacks the logo.... Might even be a fantasy, actually...

It does look like a 000, but a sausage dial? excuse the PAM noobness, but is that as opposed to a sandwich dial?

Nope, not an OOO - that doesn't have patina lume.

So a fantasy model I'd say then Greg. Not a 000 and def not a 360 without DLC

PAM111 is a lovely model, though not sure of this one at TS at the price. Toro has a great beginner model

Other one? Meh.

Wow Pihlippe, that is some serious reading there, can't believe the amount of models they have released...

In all fairness, where I live, not once have I ever seen someone where a PAM. They're hardly gonna know the difference... plus, I just love the simplicity of that model. As a first one to get me going and actually see whether I can bear a PAM on my wrist, I'm gonna go for it.

Thank you for all the info guys, it completely knocks me back the wealth of knowledge here. no more Omegas for me (gulp...)

cheers!

Alex

Looks like a fantasy to me... 360 with non-PVD case. And sandwich dial. And somewhat dark movement?

It looks nice thought, wouldn't mind one :)

You will bear it, you'll see. You won't just bear it, you'll love it. Joining here is the slippy slope, you think you have it under control, then you get your first Pam and you realise there's a whole lot more sliding to go.....!
