Many have tried, most have failed...

I remember a friend over at repgeek, Tried to convince us for several pages. In a month he was at it again.

Well,

I never went through that phase of buying cheapies like Silix specials or even any of the $100 21J versions.

I worked through a couple of versions of the AP Diver, now happy with my V3.

I went through a DSSD phase, bought a few versions, had one from Sead relumed and waterproofed by Achris, ultimately buying the Gen.

My PAM phase luckily was restricted to submersible types, but I did venture into a 127, 111, and a boutique edition.

I think I have 8 PAMs right now.

Then there are AP ROOs, which I have 4 and will be 5 with the 57th St edition.

Those are pricey to begin with, thn ll the custom hornbacks, it adds up.

I probably have around 40 right now, including 4 gens.

I have given away 6, only sold 4 and broke 1 (JLC diver). :)

NEWSLASH: There isn't a crackdown in China, they are all going into liquidation now that Jeff, their main revenue stream, is done buying reps.

Don't blame the Government or the rights holders, blame Jeff !

Looking through his collection notes, I am at about the same level as jeffw s mania (only no DSSD, and I am luming and assembling DIY homage 3646s at my home watch shop).

When you get this far, I find it easy to accept you might give it all up:

what else is left?

Maybe it is time to hit the gym, drink some wine, buy some hi-end audio, re-design the house, spend some time with the kids, write a novel, go to California, etc.

Hit gym---will go soon, still recovering from that January surgery.

Hmmm, drink wine----check. :wine:

Hi-endAudio---check

Just remodeled basement ino a home theater---check

Time with the kids----they are now teenagers and don't want to spend time with Dad.

Write a novel----a possibility.

Go to California-----another possibility, I have to see when Luthier is available. :)
