Wondering about swiss eta movements..

So I ordered a milgauss. It has the swiss eta 2836 converted to 3131 look. The watch doesnt have day or date but everybody says that movement is for day/date watches as they sell a 2824 that is exactly the same without.

Did they use this movement because its easier to convert to the 3131 look?

Dont know much about swiss movements other than the one thats in my invicta swiss ive had for a while. Its some brand starts with a S and its a model 200.
