Even if he reported it to visa no warranty is offered or implied on used goods, you offered to repair for him (awesome gesture IMHO). The fact that he is asking for a refund four months after receiving the watch is reason enough, but claiming one of the mods told(I doubt any of our mods would say such a thing) him you need to refund him 50% is crossing the line.
