trailboss99 997 Posted April 15, 2010 The dial? It's an old (pre Tag) Heuer, full lume diver's watch dial, designed for working deep and/or dark. Did you happen to get that on the bay from some guy in Tassie? I think it needs to be a non CG case to look right Sconey. JohnG 41 Posted April 15, 2010 I like the idea - but the project will be simpler if you just eliminate second hands altogether and use a 6497/6498 with the seconds stem cut off - will be a snap to put together. Col is right about the crown, but who cares? It is pure fantasy anyway... oh, and it IS a screw down, which complicates things... just keep it simple. graman 2 Posted April 15, 2010 Yeah....that was the idea....bought off ebay from a dealer in Melbourne a few years back, and I keep looking at a black pvd thinking...yeah!.... To John's point...may have to dispense with the seconds hand...happy to do that...just for a simple muck around project. Was thinking NATO or rubber as a strap. Shark skin at a stretch.... Thanks for the advice all.....going to have to do some research. John, I imagine it's simple enough to snap out the seconds hand? Otherwise, what about a GMT? I imagine then it would just be a challenge to find the right set of hands to fit.... I think they need to be big buggers, rather than the slim, svelte numbers we see on some divers watches...
