projectologist 0 Posted April 21, 2013 This will be my first attempt at a Tudor project (all PAMs up 'til now). If goes it well, then a vinty 1680 is next. Just scored this awesome "one off" dial and matching handset. I'll probably start with a cheaper case set for now as long as it has a enough material on the lugs for re-shaping. I'll upgrade the case set later when I'm more confident with the project. I think this will be a good start (more pics once it arrives)...

projectologist 0 Posted April 21, 2013 I forgot to mention... the dial started out as a scan of a gen dial. The scan was sized to the correct diameter in Photoshop, then printed out on card stock paper. It was then cut out and lumed I have scans of several 1680 and 1665 gen dials that I will try and print out at home and lume. Seems too easy, but it works. And it gets better, you can choose matte, glossy or semi surface paper to print out on!!!

projectologist 0 Posted April 22, 2013 (edited) For a printed on paper dial, it looks great under a plexi. Obviously the raised lume makes a big difference. This is the project watch with the dial and hands I bought installed before being parted out.. Edited April 22, 2013 by projectologist
J.Eric 693 Posted April 22, 2013 That looks really good!! I would love to get a copy of a 1680 dial. Would also be good for luming practice.

Redxds 0 Posted May 7, 2013 That's amazing. Technology in printing is scary. I read somewhere, that a gentleman "printed" a functional gun. That really looks great though.
Visioneer 132 Posted May 7, 2013 I wish I had similar skills. You've encouraged me to take the plunge so I'm thinking about buying a cheapie watch to practice on. I bought the toolkit so I might as well put it to good use.
