Heed the guy's advice about being careful cutting the band. I almost ruined one end by cutting too close to the hole.

Just use a very sharp craft knife and make sure you cut it straight and you'll be fine. Also don't be tempted to cut too much at a time. Better to take two or three attempts to get it down to the right size than to go too far...
